Time:  6.30pm

Venue: The Dolphin Theatre, UWA

Kate Cherry, Artistic Director of Black Swan State Theatre Company, and Director of Boundary Street will talk about the how Reg Cribb, James Morrison and herself ‘have relished the opportunity to tell a cracking good story that catches on fire through music and dance!”

Reg Cribb’s plays have been performed both nationally and internationally.  Boundary Street recently won the Rodney Seaborn Playwrights Award.

Boundary Street follows the story of three African-American soldiers in Brisbane.  Off duty, they head to the Dr Carver Club, a jazz club set up especially for African-American servicemen. The promise of new, exotic music and dancing attracts many Australians. The performance pulses with jazz music full of frenetic and exotic energy and features new compositions by jazz legend James Morrison.

A cash bar will be open on the evening so please come and mingle with other Friends before or after the talk. The Festival in Focus talks are designed to engage the Friends of the Festival with the Festival program and provide some extra insight into the performances.
As numbers will be limited please RSVP friends@perthfestival.com.au or phone 6488 8625.
