Tinalley String Quartet with Gwilym Simcock
Chamber Music Series

Australia's hottest young string quartet join forces with one of the UK's greatest young jazz pianists for a concert that bridges musical worlds.

Formed in 2003, Tinalley took their name from a laneway running through the University of Melbourne. They quickly established themselves as a quartet to watch, receiving first prize at the prestigious Banff International String Quartet Competition in 2007, and now captivate audiences worldwide.

One of the most gifted pianists and imaginative composers on the British scene, Gwilym Simcock moves effortlessly between jazz and classical music. His piano quintet Confluence was premiered at the 2010 Cheltenham Festival to thunderous acclaim.

Breathtaking technique and veritable perfect playing together, along with stupendous musicality. TRIERISCH VOLKSFREUND
