Konstantin Lifschitz
(RUSSIA)
Chamber Music Series

Konstantin Lifschitz returns to Perth for the first time since his spellbinding performance of Bach's Goldberg Variations in 2007, a concert which met with overwhelming critical and audience acclaim.

For 2011 this brilliant pianist performs an enthralling program that includes Rachmaninov's last original solo piano piece and Liszt's monumental sonata - works which reveal Lifschitz's supreme technical precision and unparalleled musical sensibility.

Lifschitz seemed so technically secure that he could risk rethinking, rephrasing and re-expressing the music even as he played it ... a deeply satisfying evening. THE INDEPENDENT

Beethoven Piano Sonata in A-flat major, Op.110
Rachmaninov Variations on a Theme of Corelli, Op.42
Liszt Piano Sonata in B minor, S178
