Schaubühne Berlin (Germany)
A project by Falk Richter and Anouk van Dijk. Direction and Choreography by Falk Richter and Anouk van Dijk. Text by Falk Richter.

German director and playwright Falk Richter is one of Europe’s boldest theatre makers. Dutch choreographer Anouk van Dijk is a pioneer in the world of contemporary dance. Their new theatre piece is a blistering look at modern life in a hyper-capitalist society – where everything can be traded, where billions of euros are lost and where love becomes a commodity.

At the heart of this work is the theme of human fragility and the stresses borne by the individual in this time of constant choice and exchange. From shopping to travel and relationships, people try to find meaning and make connections.

In this exhilarating collaboration, Richter and van Dijk depict a world that is both cruel and ridiculous. Performers perfectly interweave text, dance and music in the relentless rhythm of a world in constant motion.

With humour, rage and pathos, Richter and van Dijk have created a brilliant and incisive comment on life in a global world.

Following their audacious 2010 Sydney production of Hamlet, Schaubühne return for this not-to-be-missed Australian premiere/exclusive.

After almost 40 performances in Berlin and shows at the Avignon Festival, Trust is one of contemporary theatre's most intriguing works.

Let me highly recommend Trust ... It's a must-see for anyone interested in the possibilities of dance theatre ALISON CROGGON
