Omar Souleyman

He's a legend of the Arabic pop scene, from Jakarta to Damascus, and a superstar sold on virtually every street corner of his native Syria. Now his infectious dabke and Jhadi techno hits the West, with songs such as 'I Will Dig Your Grave with My Hands' and 'Stab my Heart' seizing audiences from Berlin to our shores.

Get set for red-hot chants rising in torrents of frenetic energy - complemented by electrified Bouzouki and the most breakneck Saz lute playing you'll ever hear.

The frenetic, celebratory songs of Jazeera Nights speak for themselves. It's strange to think of Omar Souleyman as a global pop star, but that's exactly what he was grown to become. TINY MIX TAPES

Standing Show

First on stage: Lewis Floyd Henry one man band

After Party: J-Wow feat MC Kalaf DJ/MC Set
'One drop, two drop, three drop, four, the sound of Kuduro knocking at your door' – MIA on her collaboration with Portugal's number-one party crew Buraka Som Sistema ('Sound Of Kuduro' – 2007)

Meet J Wow and MC Kalaf of Buraka, the world’s most celebrated purveyors of Kuduro, the sound of Angolan dance music. From the west coast of Africa and the leftfield of rhythm, Kuduro is a hectic blend of tribal house, dirty dancehall and rugged hip hop.

Plus DJ Nic K
Nic's Hellenic heritage as led him to love all things global. He grew up listening to Rebetica (Greek Blues), which stems from Asia Minor (modern day turkey). His love for what comes from the East and what comes from the West is his undoing, as he himself does not know what he likes better. Is it Arabic? Is it Bollywood? Is it French pop? Is it Balkan Gypsy music? Is it African hip hop? This constant state of confusion lends itself to a Global Rhythm Pot with many flavours. Kali Orexi!
