Martha Wainwright

As part of the famous Wainwright/McGarrigle dynasty, Martha Wainwright was immersed in a sea of music from birth. From this song-rich upbringing she has become a bona-fide artist in her own right, possessing a voice of compelling strength and aching vulnerability.

In part a moving tribute to her late mother, Kate McGarrigle, Martha performs an unforgettable selection of songs from her family's repertoire, her own catalogue and from her recent critically acclaimed tribute to Edith Piaf, Sans Fusils, Ni Souliers, à Paris.

'Martha’s Piaf record' features rarities from France's beloved Little Sparrow - songs filled with tenacious rolling cadences, playfulness and ferocious pleas of longing that Canada’s consummate chanteuse has made her own.

Doveman (aka Thomas Bartlett, Martha's pianist) will be performing a short opening set before each performance.

Faithful to the spirit of the original songs but also wonderfully fresh and full of life – given a thrilling, slightly seat-of-your-pants intensity in Wainwright’s renditions. THE TELEGRAPH

At once playful, touching and raw, it confirms her place as one of the world’s most vibrant singer-songwriters. BBC (ON MARTHA’S PREVIOUS SOLO LP)

Mon 21 - DJ Agent 85
Armed with a treasure chest of revival sounds from the Underground, Agent 85 DJ takes you back through the wildest parts of the '50s and '60s, leaving behind tunes that are a drag in favour of the sharpest scenester pickings. A regular on the decks at Mojo's and Hula Bula, not to mention at his own weekly dance night TW!ST, Agent 85 brings a non-stop soundtrack of rare soul, psych, surf, garage punk, doo-wop and more to get you on the dance floor.

Tue 22 - The Punch Ups/Angry and Julian Tone
Pat G has teamed up with a number of local DJs in the past and seldom teams up with the same person twice. You might know him as The Punch Ups or Wolfman. Keeping with tradition, Pat G is teaming up with Julian T of Xpress Magazine as Angry and Julian Tone for a night of music sure to be eclectic, diverse and fun.
