Don your brightest thinking cap as Ursula Dubosarsky takes you through the twists and turns of the English language in this fun and enlightening session. Drawing on her famous Word Spy, Ursula answers questions like: Where does the alphabet come from? and How do we learn to speak? Have a laugh (and learn along the way) NSW as she reads from The Word Spy and The Return of the Word Spy.

Draw your Own with Andrew Joyner and Ron Brooks

Among the finest in their field, Ron Brooks and Andrew Joyner are talented illustrators with very different artistic sentiments. Collectively, they have sketched more than 50 different characters - Ron in his classic, softer style and Andrew with signature playfulness. Join them as they discuss techniques, the ideas behind their work and the process of bringing a character to life.

Situated near the Arts Faculty the Perth Writers Festival hub provides easy access to sessions, great cafe for lunch, coffee or a chat over a glass of wine and an extensive bookshop. Transport Located at the University of WA Campus on Stirling Highway, and is serviced by buses on both Stirling Highway and Mounts Bay Road. There is a set down / pick up point behind the theatre suitable for cars, taxis, maxi taxis & small buses. Enter off Hackett Drive adjacent to University House.
